Hey, Welcome to ARTS 1383 and also to this blog. On this blog you will (soon) be able to publish movies of your beautiful Max Patchers. I will send you an invitation to be an author -you will accept (use your gmail account to accept if you have one, even though I will send the invitation to your UH email address) and then you should be able to either upload or link to movies of you using your Max Patcher. It will be cool!
This movie is a sculpture I made in the "way back" but it was easy to link to on YouTube. Usually, to make a movie of yourself using a Max Patcher, you need to make a "Screen Movie". Here's another video demonstrating how to do that.
You'll get the hang of it. This blog is so that you can see what others are doing in class, since we don't really "get together" at any time. You will also notice that I posted permalinks on the right to my list of Tutorial Videos, the Syllabus and RadioIPEF. This semester, RadioIPEF is actually busy playing music created by a program I made in Max; if you tune in, you can hear some "once and never again" music, and even claim the copyright, if you like it! But everything was made in Max; the music making machine, the robot-deejay, the recorder. It's a good example of having an idea, and using Max to solve it.
I look forward to seeing and commenting on your projects. Don't forget to comment on other people's work; it's great to hear feedback and it's part of your "class participation" grade. PATCH ON!
